Kornerupine and Demantiod Garnets!
Here’s the deal with the Demantiods – all of these were tumbled and then heated in Russia causing an orangish-brown central core that gradually changes to a pretty strong green on the outside. Most of these will, with a little coercion, break into smaller pieces (probably ranging from 1-5+ cts. each) due to the clear heat fractures present in the stones. Once in smaller pieces, stones should be facet grade and colors will range from classic Demantiod green to brown-orange in tone. If there is enough interest in this material, we will pursue more.
Some of the Kornerupine is suitable for faceting, some is probably best served in cabochons or carved.
